Hobsons Bay Relay For Life Launch - a great
success!!
On Monday 28th July we held a fantastic launch for the 2008
Hobsons Bay Relay For Life. Thank-you to everyone who attended and the
7 new teams
who registered on the night. Wow!!
Our favourite celebrity Sid The Seagul made an appearance to say hello.
Plus we also heard from
Tina Thomas,
Cancer Support Coordinator, and the beautiful voice of singer
Katrina Free.
The Pirate’s
Tavern at Seaworks
was a wonderful venue, in the heart of the Williamstown Maritime
precinct.
Our early-bird prize draw of 2 x Village Gold Class passes was won by
The Link Team. Congratulations.

So you're thinking
about registering a team - or you already have - but are lost and
confused. Who, what, when, where, why, how?? Questions and more
questions abound!! Bring your team members along...or register your team
on the night!!
Some things we'll discuss:
o What to expect at the event,
o How to build your team - team members and an exciting theme,
o How to prepare your team,
o Practical fundraising ideas,
o Event logistics - tent sites, parking, registering, coming and
going, how the event works, ceremonies, and more

Relay For Life Dates
The
2008 event will be from 4pm on Saturday 22nd
November to 10am on Sunday 23rd November, 2008
 Relay for Life is an
18-hour, overnight team event to raise funds for the Cancer Council
Victoria's cancer research, education and support programs.
You’ll be
celebrating the lives of those who have survived cancer, remembering those
lost to cancer and supporting people battling the disease.
All you need is to get together 10 or more friends to form a team, do some
fundraising and come along to the event.
Team members take turns to keep their baton moving overnight, enjoying the
sensational festive atmosphere created through entertainment, camping,
spot prizes and, most importantly, the vibrancy of the hundreds of lively
people on the track!
It’s about passion and comradeship, team building and rallying a community
to take up the fight.
Survivors are our VIPs
Cancer survivors are the reason we’re here, to celebrate their lives.

The 2007 Hobsons Bay Relay For Life was a fantastic success. A huge
turnout. Great teams. So many special survivors. Incredible atmosphere.
Nice weather. Exciting entertainment. Wonderful spirit, and so much
more!!
Congratulations, thank-you and well done to everyone who took part - you
are amazing.
